The frustrations continued for State College as the Little Lions fell 63-42 to Loyalsock Township in the consolation game of the Kiwanis Holiday Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Coach Drew Frank said he cannot remember a season beginning this way in his 18 seasons leading State College (1-8).
“Not since I’ve been here, not up until today,” Frank said. “Even at this morning’s shoot-around I was impressed with our level of maturity, and how we haven’t let our offensive struggles impact our defensive play. Today was the first time our frustrations on the offensive end impacted us on the defensive end.”
Omar Little netted 14 points while Kyle Datres and Ben Sosa each added 13 and Mike Pastore scored 11 for the Lancers (7-1).

Lucas Cooper’s 11 points and Lonnie Koudella’s eight paced the Little Lions.
“I saw some improvement in last night’s game from our loss to Mifflin County (on Dec. 20),” Frank said. “The energy level was up, our execution was better last night and we took care of the basketball. I was really excited about our chances coming into today. It was a step back. The exec was not there today.”
