Gymnastics: Locals fare well at Bellefonte Bash

Maepearl St. George of Bellefonte won all the events in the sophomore division of the Bellefonte Bash on Saturday.

St. George won the all-around competition with a score of 31.45 and swept the vault, bars, beam and floor for the Lady Red Raiders.

Bald Eagle Area’s Michelle Kachik had an impressive showing by winning the senior all-around with 34 points and winning the bars, beam, floor and second in vault.

Bellefonte also took the top two spots in the junior all-around with Olivia Williams and Grace Young finishing first and second, respectively. Williams also won floor, while Young placed second in vault.

Also in the sophomore division, the Lady Red Raiders’ Kierra Benner placed second in vault and third in the all-around.
