Holding a mere four-point lead at halftime, Penns Valley pulled away from Bellwood-Antis in the second half Thursday night for a 66-43 victory.
“We defended better in the second half,” said Rams coach Terry Glunt, whose team led 30-26 at the break. “It’s sort of unlike us to give up so many points in a quarter, but they were very aggressive offensively and they shot the lights out. Their kids played with a lot of spirit. We were solid coming off monday’s loss (to Tyrone in overtime), but it took us a while to get our legs together. We got things in synch and ran things better in the second half offensively.”
Logan Johnson’s 19 points paced the Rams (9-1), with Ben Alexander adding 13 points and Luke Weaver netting 11.
Nathan Davis’ 16 points led the Blue Devils (2-9).
