Girls’ basketball: State College hammers Harrisburg

Kyla Irwin and Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh each scored 12 points to lead State College as the Lady Little Lions beat Harrisburg 55-31 in a girls’ basketball Mid Penn Conference Commonwealth division game on Tuesday night.

State College (11-6, 8-4) outscored Harrisburg (11-9, 5-8) by 10 points to build a 13-point halftime lead. The Lady Little Lions then used a 19-6 third quarter to extend their lead to 26 points heading into the fourth quarter.

State College’s win came after losing to the Cougars 59-52 on Jan. 3.
