The State College girls’ basketball team is headed to Indiana in the PIAA Class AAAA Tournament.

The Lady Little Lions (18-7) will take on WPIAL power North Allegheny (23-3) at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Indiana High School.

State College won a thriller in its PIAA opener, topping Mount Lebanon 51-50 on Friday. Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh had 19 points and Kyla Irwin added 14 in the triumph.

The Lady Tigers, ranked fifth in the state, had it a lot easier. Rebounding from an upset loss in the WPIAL semifinals, North Allegheny pounded Penn-Trafford 64-39. Devvin LaBarge sank six 3-pointers and had 22 points in the win. The Lady Tigers shot 23 of 26 from the foul line in the triumph.

The State College-North Allegheny game will be preceded by a Class AA second-round matchup. District 6 champion Bellwood-Antis (24-3) faces District 7 runner-up Burrell (26-1) at 6 p.m.
