The 3,200-meter relay team for State College is once again among the best in the nation.
The foursome of Chris Golembeski, Kyle Adams, Mason Post and Will Cather finished fifth in their heat, and fifth overall, in the 4x800 relay at the Penn Relays at Franklin Field on Friday morning.
They finished with a time of 7 minutes, 50.44 seconds, one-hundredth of a second behind fourth-place Pennridge, the only Pennsylvania school to finish ahead of the Little Lions. Calabar of Jamaica won the race in 7:42.94, with teams from New York and New Jersey taking second and third, respectively, in the 17-team heat.
Each of the 19 teams in the other heat finished with slower times than State College. Altoona had a time of 8:10.15 in the second heat to finish 15th.
