Postponed for a week, the annual Pennsylvania Softball Coaches All-Star Game will try again Thursday night at Nittany Lion Softball Park.
The contest, which features all-stars from District 6 and District 4, was originally scheduled for June 19, but was postponed because of wet conditions at Beard Field. The District 6 Hall of Fame ceremonies will precede the game at 6 p.m., with the 10-inning contest starting at 7 p.m.
The District 6 squad features 14 players who graduated recently from Centre County schools. Those players are: Bald Eagle Area’s Makennah Dyke (pitcher); Bellefonte’s Vanessa Cooper (catcher), Erin Pugh (outfield) and Olivia Ripka (second base); Penns Valley’s Nicole Harbaugh (catcher), Megan Houser (second base), Courtney Ironside (third base), Ashley Struble (shortstop) and Tangie Lyons (outfield); Philipsburg-Osceola’s Haley Frank (catcher) and State College’s Lexi Mattivi (outfield), Michaela Rittenhouse (outfield), Megan Robert (second base) and Sharayah Simco (catcher).
The District 6 Hall of Fame inductees are: Southern Huntingdon’s Renee Schmidt; Central Mountain’s Taylor Lesser; Central Cambria’s Samantha Kemock and Mifflin County’s Kimbra Eckley.
