The Penns Valley girls’ soccer team kept up the offensive pressure and finally broke through for a pair of second-half goals Monday afternoon.

Valerie Kubalak and Hailee Wingard accounted for the scoring for the Lady Rams in a 2-0 victory over Philipsburg-Osceola.

Both goals were netted in the second half as Penns Valley finished with a 17-6 advantage in shots. Kylie Orndorf made six saves for the shutout.

“The girls played pretty well overall tonight but we need to get more efficient at shooting,” Lady Rams coach Jeff Smucker said. “We created many opportunities but we didn’t finish well. The Philipsburg goalie did a nice job of coming out and putting pressure on our shooters. It is always nice to get another shutout.”

Makenzie Myers made 15 saves for the Lady Mounties.
