High school boys cross country: Philipsburg-Osceola, St. Joseph’s dominate

Philipsburg-Osceola beat three opponents and St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy picked up two wins in a meet featuring four schools Tuesday.

The Mounties earned wins over Tyrone (27-28), Bald Eagle Area (15-50) and Bishop Guilfoyle (20-36), while the Wolves defeated BEA (15-50) and Bishop Guilfoyle (15-45).

Nick Patrick finished second with a time of 18:16 to pace P-O. Michael Shimmel (seventh) was the Mounties’ other top-10 finisher.

St. Joseph’s had six finishers in the top 10: Michael Peters (fourth, 18:32), Brian Hackman (fifth, 18:33), Eli Urban (sixth), Ethan Fisher (eighth), Nathan Mellace (ninth) and Andy Rogan (10th).

Austin Klinger finished 18th (21:42) to lead Bald Eagle Area, which also fell 15-50 to Tyrone.
