Despite a 26-3 disparity in shots, scoring was at a premium for Bellefonte before the Red Raiders prevailed 2-0 Thursday afternoon against Clearfield.
Noah Gaus scored midway through the first half, with help from Nate Shippee, but the Raiders didn’t score again until Chauncey Blakeslee hit the net in the 73rd minute. Bison keeper Peyton Triester made 19 saves during his busy day in goal.
“It was probably one of our better possession games tonight,” Bellefonte coach Scott Martz said. “With that many shots I was hoping for more goals, but their keeper came up with some big saves.”
Matt Feldman made three saves for the Red Raiders (7-0-1).
