High school girls soccer: Bald Eagle Area shuts out Central

Bald Eagle Area posted its third Mountain League shutout of the season, blanking Central 3-0 Wednesday night at Alumni Stadium.

Haley Giedroc netted a pair of goals in the second half to ice the win, and Haley Furrow scored the game-winner in the first half for the Lady Eagles (5-7-1, 4-4-1 Mountain League).

“It was a fairly even game until Haley Furrow knocked one in close to the end of the first half,” BEA coach Jared Moore said. “We played even again in the second half until I pulled Haley Giedroc from the midfield. I said I need a goal, go score one. She did one better and scored two. There's not much more a coach can ask for.”

Dallis Dillon made 10 saves for the shutout, with a lot of help from back Makenzie Proctor marking Dragons forward Olivia Smith, as BEA matched Central with 13 shots apiece.
