High school boys cross country: Penns Valley wins Mountain League regular season title

Penns Valley wrapped up the Mountain League’s regular season title with an undefeated league season after a 15-50 victory over Bald Eagle Area on Wednesday.

The meet had been set for Tuesday before lightning postponned the event.

Adam Mothersbaugh paced the field with his time of 17 minutes, 48 seconds on the 5-kilometer course, and was followed in the top five by Chris Colwell (18:18), Nick Fuller (18:57), Keith Griffith (19:08) and Isaac DuVall (19:23). The Rams will look to add the meet title to the regular-season crown when they host the league meet Oct. 15.

“It was a nice accomplishment for the boys to win a Mountain League championship with their win today,” coach Terry Glunt said. “They are looking forward to the league race in two weeks on our course.”
