High school girls soccer: Clearfield edges Bald Eagle Area in overtime

Bald Eagle Area suffered a tough overtime loss as an own goal was the difference in a 2-1 loss against Clearfield on Wednesday.

Just a little bit more than two minutes into overtime, Clearfield took a free kick that deflected off a BEA defenders foot and past Lady Eagle keeper Dallis Dillon.

“There was nothing Dallis could do about it,” BEA coach Jared Moore said. “It was an awful way to end such a great game, but that's the game of soccer. We will just have to move past it, keep our heads up and get ready for Philipsburg (on Thursday).”

Trailing 1-0, the Lady Eagles (5-8-1) tied it as Sarah Van Cise made an outstanding crossing pass to Morgan Nyman, who scored off the post. Raquel Grice scored in the first half for Clearfield.

Dillon stopped eight shots.
