High school boys cross country: State College takes second in Mid Penn race

The State College boys’ cross country team recorded a team score of 96 to finish second in a field of 26 teams at the Mid Penn Conference Championships on Saturday.

Cumberland Valley won the title with a score of 75.

“The guys ran really well,” State College coach Dave Felice said. “... Cumberland Valley probably ran their best race all year. We probably ran as well as we have.”

Alex Milligan paced the Little Lions, finishing sixth with a time of 16:17. Matt Beyerle placed 10th with a time of 16:21.

Other State College finishers included: Nick Feffer (20th, 16:46), Eric Heatwole (29th, 17:03), Owen Wing (31st, 17:11), Matt Balogh (39th, 17:20) and Phil Clauer (51st, 17:37).

Red Land’s Zach Seiger finished first with a time of 16:02.

State College will continue its season in the District 6 Class AAA Championships on Oct. 25.
