High school girls cross country: State College finishes sixth at Mid Penn Championships

Natasha Fedkina took fifth to pace State College in its sixth-place finish in the Mid Penn Conference Championships on Saturday.

The Lady Little Lions finished with a team score of 133. Chambersburg won the title with a score of 88, while Cumberland Valley (92) took second and Carlisle (111) was third in the 25-team field.

Fedkina recorded a time of 19:34. Larissa Burka was 10th with a time of 19:45.

“For Fedkina to be fifth is outstanding,” State College coach Rebecca Donaghue said. “She ran a solid time on a tough course. ... Having 1-2 (Fedkina and Burka) up that high was great.”

Other State College finishers included: Catherine Curtin (33rd, 20:52), Cailin Saylor (37th, 21:05), Bella Dinallo (49th, 21:19), Julia Neely (54th, 21:29), Josie Krieger (56th, 21:31) and Haley Garvin (59th, 21:34).

Cumberland Valley junior Mady Clahane won the conference title for the third straight year. She finished in 18:29 — 40 seconds ahead of runner-up Angel Barber of East Pennsboro.

State College will continue its season in the District 6 Class AAA Championships on Oct. 25.
