Five Centre County girls’ volleyball teams qualified for the District 6 tournament and open postseason play Monday, according to the brackets released Thursday.
State College earned the top seed in Class AAA and hosts fourth-seeded Central Mountain at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Second-seeded Hollidaysburg takes on third-seeded Altoona in the other semifinal matchup at State College at 6 p.m.
The Class AAA championship is set for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Tyrone.
In Class AA, defending champion Philipsburg-Osceola has a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed. The Lady Mounties, who finished second in the Mountain League, will host the winner of the matchup between seventh-seeded Bedford and No. 10 seed Penn Cambria in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Fifth-seeded Bald Eagle Area hosts No. 12 seed Bellefonte on Monday at a time to be determined. The winner advances to face No. 4 Somerset on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Huntingdon. The Lady Eagles swept Bellefonte twice during the regular season.
Mountain League champions Huntingdon earned the top seed and will face either No. 8 seed Forest Hills and No. 9 Chestnut Ridge in the quarterfinals.
The Class AA championship is Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. at Altoona.
St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy is the No. 12 seed in Class A.
The Lady Wolves go on the road to take on No. 5 Cambria Heights at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
