Janae Moran did it all for State College in its 25-13, 25-8, 25-8 District 6 Class AAA semifinal win over Central Mountain on Monday.
“Winning is great but I felt like we were going through the motions a lot,” Lady Little Lions coach Chad Weight said. “We didn’t play with a sense of urgency. Right now, you can’t be playing like that because it is win or go home. We were a little sluggish but as the match went on we were ok.”
Moran had nine kills, 15 assists and six service aces to lead State College (15-2).
“We ask a lot from Janae,” Weight said of his senior. “Janae found some good spots tonight at the service line. As long as she stays in games, shes a pretty good player.”

The Lady Little Lions also got eight kills apiece from Kyla Irwin and Abby Horner. Tara Neidigh’s nine digs led State College followed by Makenzie Sullivan’s five.
With the win, the Lady Little Lions advance to the District 6 Class AAA championship. They will face Hollidaysburg, who was a 3-1 winner over Altoona, at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tyrone High School.
“It will be a good test,” Weight said. “We look forward to that and we accept it. We need to play and play hard.”
