High school girls basketball: State College falls to Central Dauphin East

A slow second quarter doomed the State College girls’ basketball team in a 47-39 loss to Central Dauphin East on Friday.

State College led by eight going into the second quarter, however the Lady Panthers (11-0) outscored the Lady Little Lions by 16 to take a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

“We were in foul trouble way too early in the game and that took us out of rhythm.” said State College coach Bethany Irwin.

Kyla Irwin led State College with a game-high 21 points.

State College went 16 for 29 from the foul line.

The Pink Out game was highlighted by the $5,800 raised for breast cancer research for the Mount Nittany Health Fund.

State College (7-3) will host Cumberland Valley on Tuesday.
