High school girls basketball: Penns Valley can’t slow Engle in loss to Tyrone

Despite its best defensive effort, Penns Valley was unable to stop Tyrone’s Kasey Engle in a 64-45 loss on Tuesday.

Engle, a sophomore, scored 38 points for the Golden Eagles. She had five 3-pointers and had a 7 for 7 showing from the foul line.

“We just couldn’t find anyone to stop her, and we tried everybody,” Penns Valley coach Karen McCaffrey said.

Karli Ripka led the Lady Rams with 13 points.

Penns Valley (6-6) will host Juniata Valley on Thursday.
