High school girls basketball: State College tops Central Dauphin

Despite injuries, State College earned a 49-37 win over Central Dauphin on Friday night.

“I’ve never seen a group of players just get together and hang in there,” coach Bethany Irwin said. “A lot of kids came through, we lost three kids due to injury.”

Abby Allen led the Lady Little Lions with a career-high 12 points, hitting four 3-pointers in the first half.

Brenna Adams scored a career-high seven points, and Taylor Love added nine points off the bench.

State College also went 13 for 16 from the foul line, with Maggie Hurley going 9 for 11.

“It was an odd combination of players, but they just rallied the whole game,” Irwin said of her team.

State College (9-5) will host Chambersburg on Tuesday.
