Boys’ basketball: Bald Eagle Area struggles after long layoff

Five days without meaningful practice time made a meaningful difference for Bald Eagle Area in a 75-54 loss to Central on Wednesday.

The Eagles (6-9) were slow out of the gate and trailed the Dragons (7-7) 32-20 at halftime and never recovered.

“We started out slow and just couldn’t get any rhythm going tonight,” BEA coach Bill Butterworth said.

Central had four players in double figures while BEA also had four. Jason Jones finished with 17 points while Brandon Gettig added 13. Trey Butterworth scored 12 for BEA and Noah Chambers finished with 10.
