Penn Valley was held scoreless in the final period as Huntingdon rallied for a 56-48 triumph against the Rams on Tuesday.
Penns Valley led 18-7 after the first quarter, but the Bearcats trimmed the deficit to 48-47 entering the final period. Penns Valley went 0 for 10 from the field in the final period.
“It was a Jeckyl-and-Hyde kinds of game for us,” Penns Valley coach Terry Glunt said. “We played well for the first quarter-and-a-half and we struggled through the fourth quarter.”
Nate Gearhart scored a game-high 29 points for Huntingdon and went 6 for 10 on 3-pointers. Gearhart had 18 points in the second quarter.

The Rams shot a blistering 21 for 38 from the floor, but did not attempt a free throw. Logan Pierce led Penns Valley with 20 points, including a 4-for-4 effort from 3-point range. Sean Beamesderfer added 11 points.
