Aubrey Weiss made four free throws in the final minutes to lift St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy to a 37-36 triumph over Grace Prep on Monday.
The Lady Wolves (2-17) rallied from a six-point deficit after three quarters by holding Grace Prep to no field goals in the final period. The Lady Storm went 6 for 16 from the line.
Weiss’ two free throws with about 11/2 minutes remaining closed the deficit to 36-35 and two more with about 10 seconds remaining made the difference.
“It was a great battle by both teams,” St. Joseph’s coach Brenna O’Connor said. “It was a shame someone had to lose.”
