High school boys’ lacrosse: State College drops season opener to Parkland

Parkland scored twice in the first period and held on for a 3-1 victory against State College in the season opener for both teams.

“We had our chances,” State College coach Jeff King said. “Noah Schwab had an excellent game in goal and our defense played well. Usually, allowing three goals would be enough to win.”

Dylan Horne scored off an assist from Will Harvey in the third period for State College’s goal. Schwab stopped 17 shots.

Ethan Howell, Zach Getchius and Mike Warg scored for Parkland.

State College plays at Hershey on Tuesday.
