A six-run fourth inning gave the State College baseball team a 7-2 win in its season opener against Red Land on Tuesday.
The Little Lions took command in the fourth when Harrison Walls led off the frame with a double, Chris Boal followed with an RBI triple and Caleb Walls later added a two-run single.
Sam Plafcan also had a double as the Little Lions picked up five hits.
Red Land scratched out just three hits on three State College pitchers, but the trio on the mound also gave up eight walks and struck out nine.

“It was very mixed but it was the typical first game,” Little Lions coach Bill Tussey said. “That’s kind of how the pitching went. We had some good stretches and we had some rough stretches. They competed and the bad stretches didn’t hurt us as much as they will down the road.”
