High school boys’ lacrosse: State College dominates for first win

State College dominated Central Dauphin East 17-0 for its first win of the season Thursday.

Brady Franks netted six goals for the Little Lions (1-2) and added four assists. P.J. Bachman turned in a four-point game with three goals and a helper and Will Harvey, Dylan Horne and Kevin Cramer each added a pair of goals for State College. John Seighman and Kevin Reid also scored and Chris McDonough added an assist in an offensive afternoon.

“We were focusing on trying to work our offense and maintain possessions,” State College coach Jeff King said. “We actually possessed the ball in our half of the field for the majority of the game. Our kids responded well, our offense played well.”

State College dominated draws winning 14 of 18 faceoffs and picked up 42 ground balls to CD East’s 13. As a result, starting goalie Noah Schwab had an easy afternoon and didn’t face a single shot. Dan McOsker entered in the second half and turned aside CD East’s lone shot.
