High school baseball: State College stumbles against Central Dauphin

State College took an early lead but couldn’t hold on in a 3-1 loss to Central Dauphin in eight innings on Wednesday.

Little Lion starting pitcher Kyle Peterson recorded eighht strikeout and allowed two hits in five scoreless innings. Tucker Triebold took the loss, allowing two runs on five hits in two innings. Central Dauphin’s Aaron Gress pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking two to earn the win.

State College went ahead 1-0 in the third inning on an RBI single by Brandon Raquet.

Central Dauphin tied it in the sixth and took the lead for good on Reily McLaughlin’s RBI single in the eighth.

State College (1-1) will travel to Chambersburg on Thursday.
