High school softball: State College earns win over Central Dauphin

Alyssa Shedlock hit two home runs to lead State College to a 5-1 softball victory over Central Dauphin on Wednesday.

Shedlock went 3 for 4, scored three runs and drove in two runs, and teammate Jess Henderson went 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs. State College starting pitcher Hannah Shields struck out 11 and allowed four hits in a complete game to earn the win.

“Our pitcher, Hannah Shields, threw really well with good command,” State College coach Mike Harper said.

State College will host Chambersburg on Thursday.
