High school boys’ volleyball: State College rallies for victory over Bishop Guilfoyle

State College boys’ volleyball team dropped its first set but rallied in dominant fashion to beat Bishop Guilfoyle 3-1 on Friday.

The Little Lions won by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-18.

John Weakland lead State College’s offense with 11 kills while Peyton Stark added eight. Noah Christie and Aaron Cymbor added to the offense with five aces each.

“John Weakland had a great offensive game for us,” Little Lions coach Kim-le Kimmel said. “We actually dropped the first set but rally in sets 2-4. Now we get a couple days off before we host again on Tuesday.”

The defense came through when it needed to with Tyler Snyder getting 17 digs and Christie adding 11.
