High school baseball: Penns Valley tops Claysburg-Kimmel for first victory

Penns Valley pounded out a dozen hits, Ryan McElwee pitched a solid game on the mound and Penns Valley earned its first win of the season 8-5 over Clasyburg-Kimmel on Monday.

L.J. Johnson led the hitting attack with three hits and two RBIs. McElwee struck out eight, walked four and allowed just four hits.

The Rams (1-3) took the lead for good with a four-run fourth inning, with an RBI triple for Wyatt Sharp, an RBI double for Colton Treaster and an RBI single for Johnson.
