Bald Eagle Area put six runs across in the first inning and Moreta Dyke helped make the lead stand up in a 10-3 victory over Hollidaysburg on Friday.
Dyke allowed six hits, all in the first three innings including four hits in a three-run third, before shutting out the Lady Tigers the rest of the game, striking out three and walking two.
“I was real happy with her,” BEA coach Curt Heverly said. “She got rocked in the third and settled downa nd took control the rest of the game.”
The Lady Eagles (6-2), playing their sixth game in seven days, took control of the game with two-out, two-run singles from Morgan Nyman, Mikala Smith and Dallis Dylan in the bottom of the first. Smith had two hits and knocked in three runs in the game, and Nyman and Megan Kresovich each had a pair of hits.
