High school softball: Central Mountain rallies past State College

Central Mountain scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past State College 6-5 Friday.

Back-to-back one-out doubles by Josie Dershem and Jessica Strouse were followed by a single from Bree Hilty and an RBI groundout from Marisa Major to tie the game, and Sarah Reeder’s single scored Hilty to end the contest.

The Lady Little Lions had taken the lead with RBI singles from Andrea Myers and Andrea King in the sixth inning and an RBI groundout from Brenna Adams in the top of the seventh. Adams knocked in two runs on the day, and Alyssa Shedlock was 2-for-4.

Karli Nolan pitched a complete game in the loss, and Emily Strouse, the Lady Wildcats’ third pitcher of the day, earned the win.
