High school softball: Bald Eagle Area edges Central

Sidney Shultz was big on the mound and Marissa Tobias was big at the plate to lead Bald Eagle Area over Central 2-1 on Friday.

Shultz gave up three hits while striking out two and not walking a single batter. The Lady Eagles’ defense had five errors in the win.

“Sidney pitched a really solid game,” BEA coach Curt Heverly said. “She got us out of some tough innings.”

Tobias had a two-run single in the bottom of the third which was the eventual game-winning hit.
