High school boys’ volleyball: State College falls to Central Dauphin in State College Invitational quarterfinals

State College fell 19-25 to Central Dauphin in the quarterfinals to end its day at the State College Invitational on Saturday.

The Little Lions went 5-1 to finish first in pool play before going 0-6 in the 1st place power pool. They then dropped their game to Central Dauphin in the quarterfinals. Hempfield beat Northeastern 25-19, 25-19 in the finals.

Peyton Stark finished with a .300 hitting percentage to lead State College.

“He played huge,” State College coach Kim-Li Kimel said of Stark. “... He was our go-to all day.”

Aaron Cymbor tied with John Weakland with five aces.

“His serve was tough,” Kimel said of Cymbor. “We were winning a ton of points off his jump serve.”

State College (8-2) hosts Central Dauphin on Tuesday.
