High school girls track and field: Bald Eagle Area picks up wins over Philipsburg-Osceola, Tyrone

The Bald Eagle Area girls’ track and field team earned a 78-72 win over Philipsburg-Osceola and a 122-18 win over Tyrone at its tri meet on Saturday.

Maddie Cingle was a double winner for the Lady Eagles, taking the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6 minutes, 3.8 seconds and the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:10.1.

Other winners for Bald Eagle Area included: Lexi Turner (110 hurdles, 18.1), Sarah Van Cise (100, 13.6), Alyssa Butterworth (800, 2:44.4), Haley Furrow (long jump, 14-4) and Jordan Gile (javelin, 112-4).

The Lady Mounties beat Tyrone 116-28.

Salena Garcia was a triple winner for Philipsburg-Osceola, finishing first in the triple jump (30-3 1/4), high jump (4-4) and pole vault (7-6).

Other Philipsburg-Osceola winners included: Kyra James (400, 1:06.4), Mandy Schmidt (200, 29.3), Jamie Watro (discus, 89-2) and Kristin Butterworth (shot put, 29-7).
