High school baseball: Philipsburg-Osceola splits doubleheader with Central

Philipsburg-Osceola split a doubleheader with Central on Friday, beating the Dragons 10-6 before falling 11-1.

The Mounties (8-11) used a five-run third inning to take control in the first game. Isaac Knepp hit a three-run double in the inning to help Philipsburg-Osceola take a 5-1 lead.

Knepp finished with three hits and four RBIs, Derek Shaw had three hits and two RBIs and Logan Williamson doubled and drove in three runs.

Josh Earnest pitched a complete game to earn the win for the Mounties.

In the second game, the Dragons won in five innings after scoring five runs in the top of the fifth.

Mitch Winters doubled for Philipsburg-Osceola, and Shaw drove in the lone run.
