High school softball: State College rides big inning to win over Williamsport

The State College softball team used a seven-run fifth inning to beat Williamsport 8-4 on Monday.

Jess Henderson led the Lady Little Lions offensively, going 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Kayla Hawbaker was 2 for 4, scored two runs and drove in another, and Alyssa Shedlock went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Corey Marfitt was also 2 for 4 for State College, which trailed 4-1 before its seven-run inning.

State College’s Hannah Shields pitched four innings of relief, allowing one run on three hits and recording six strikeouts to earn the win.
