High school softball: County standouts selected for PSBCA all-star game

A strong contingent of Centre County talent will be on hand Monday night when the Pennsylvania Softball Coaches Association’s annual All-Star Game will be held at Penn State’s Nittany Lion Softball Park.

The county’s five varsity programs will send 17 girls to the event, which kicks off with a Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 5:45 p.m.

The first game of District 6 all-stars begins at 6:45 p.m., with the second game, pitting District 6 stars against the best from District 4, begins at 8:15 p.m.

The all-stars from Bald Eagle Area are scheduled to include infielders Logan Fisher, Hayley Giedroc and Marissa Tobias, along with outfielder Dallis Dillon and designated player Morgan Peters.

Bellefonte will be represented by infielder Sarah Menna, outfielder Liz Linn and pitcher Tara Baney.

Chosen from Philipsburg-Osceola were infielders Kenzie Burge, Abby Showers and Haylee Hayward, and outfielder Megan Bainey.

State College’s selections are outfielders Alyssa Shedlock and Kayla Hawbaker, and pitchers Karli Nolan and Jess Henderson.
