Sarah Van Cise scored a pair of goals as Bald Eagle Area blanked Philipsburg-Osceola 3-0 Monday.
Van Cise scored twice in the first six minutes of the second half, and Kiersten Walker added the other goal in the 52nd minute to secure the win for BEA (4-8, 2-7 Mountain League). Morgan Nyman and Heather Huyett picked up assists, while Charlee Harris and Annie Barnhart combined for five saves and the shutout win.
“At halftime, I asked for someone to step [up] and lead the team on the field and Sarah Van Cise stepped up and showed her senior leadership,” BEA coach Jared Moore said. “I could not have been more proud. She was everywhere and put in two really nice goals. It starts with leadership and when a team sees that from a veteran player it just makes them play that much better. Sarah was fantastic tonight.”
