High School girls’ soccer: Brooks stays hot in Bellefonte’s win over Penns Valley

Morgan Brooks posted her second hat trick of the last week, including the game-winner late, in Bellefonte’s 3-2 victory over Penns Valley on Monday night at Rogers Stadium.

The senior, who also scored three goals in a win against Bald Eagle Area last Tuesday, netted two scores in the game’s first 15 minutes, first heading in the ball off a Madisen Paige corner kick, then converting a long ball from Hannah Robb on the defensive end.

Destiny Andrus put the Lady Rams on the board with a breakaway goal about 12 minutes later, and Keira Whitman tied it 3:37 into the second half, ripping a long shot over the hands of Lady Raider keeper Nicole Peggs. Peggs and Gabbie Pighetti combined for the win in goal for Bellefonte (9-4, 8-1 Mountain League).

Brooks then found the net again with the winner with 13:13 left, with another header off a cross from Paige.

Rachel Wert made six saves in goal for the Lady Rams (7-4-1).
