High school boys golf: Robert leads State College to runner-up finish at sectionals

The State College boys’ golf team advanced to district competition after Tuesday’s sectional competition.

Matt Robert’s score of 78 stood as the top overall score, and led State College to a second place finish at the event. Altoona beat State College by one stroke to take first place with a team score of 321.

Hollidaysburg will join the two teams at districts after finishing in third place with a score of 334. The top 10 individual performers are guaranteed a spot at districts.

Districts will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Scotch Valley.
