High school boys soccer: Krise leads Philipsburg-Osceola past Penns Valley

Austin Krise scored all four goals to lead the Philipsburg-Osceola boys’ soccer team to a 4-0 win over Penns Valley on Wednesday.

The Mounties (7-3-2), who have four games left, have clinched a spot in the District 6 Class AA playoffs for the sixth straight season. Philipsburg-Osceola outshot the Rams 22-2.

Krise now has 23 goals this season. Ryan Coble owns the school’s single-season record with 33 goals in 1996. Krise is now second all-time at P-O with 50 career goals, trailing Coble’s 90.

Krise scored at the 5:30 mark on an assist by Kyle Albert and notched his second goal more than three minutes later on an assist by Eric Tew.

He scored his third and fourth goals at the 46:20 and 50:35 marks, respectively. Ulysses Saldana and Tew assisted on the goals.

Philipsburg-Osceola’s Payton Moore made one save, and Jared Kines had 14 saves for the Rams (5-8).
