Two first-half goals proved to be enough as Bellefonte held off Juniata 2-1 Monday.
Nate Shippee opened the scoring for the Red Raiders (9-6) in the 16th minute. Daniel Catchmark scored for Bellefonte 12 minutes later on a pass from Finn Nixdorf.
“We came out and played really well to start the game we were passing really well,” Red Raiders coach Scott Martz. “We had some really good looks at the goal. Second half, Juniata was a lot more aggressive and had our defense on their heals but they held strong. It was an evenly matched game.”
Bellefonte goalie Noah Nadolsky made five saves for the win.
