Brackets for the PIAA District 6 boys’ and girls’ soccer championships were announced Saturday, and State College has to feel good about its situation.
Both the State College boys and girls earned the No. 1 seed in Class AAA, and will receive byes into the semifinals.
The Little Lions will play the winner of Hollidaysburg and Central Mountain, while the Lady Little Lions face the winner of Hollidaysburg and Altoona. Both semifinal games will take place on Nov. 3.
In Class AA action, Bellefonte boys’ soccer is the No. 4 seed and will face Bishop Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Bald Eagle Area. Philipsburg-Osceola, the No. 6 seed, will play at Huntingdon at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The top seed is Bedford.

In girls’ Class AA, Bellefonte is the No. 6 seed and will play Tyrone at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at BEA. The top seed is Central.
Penns Valley will also have both boys and girls represented in the Class A championships. Both teams will play on Tuesday with the girls heading to Richland for a 6 p.m. contest, while the boys play Bishop Guilfoyle at Altoona’s Mansion Park at 8 p.m. The top seed for the girls side is Bishop Guilfoyle.
Also in Class A, BEA boys’ soccer, the No. 3 seed, has a bye and will play Bishop McCort in the semifinals at Point Stadium in Johnstown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The No. 1 seed for the boys is Westmont Hilltop.
