Bald Eagle Area wrestling hosts Winter Classic

Bald Eagle Area wrestling hosted the Winter Classic on Saturday, and it came away with a few wins, highlighted by impressive individual performances.

BEA defeated Crestwood, Hollidaysburg and Altoona, while falling to Warwick and Cathedral Preparatory.

The Eagles triumphed over Crestwood 47-15 thanks in large part to four pins and two wins by forfeit. Clayton Giedroc, Seth Koleno, Jake Crestani and Joshua Fye earned pins.

BEA toppled Hollidaysburg 41-18, grinding out three wins by decision and another pair of forfeit victories. At 126 pounds, Garrett Rigg of the Eagles recorded the fastest pin of the match at 30 seconds.

The Eagles also downed Altoona, winning by a 40-27 margin. The Eagles tallied three wins by decision, three pins, and two wins by forfeit. Crestani, Brock Hockenberry and Corey Thompson pinned their respective opponents.

The Eagles lost to Warwick 60-22 and Cathedral Prep 53-15.
