Early runs propel Bald Eagle Area to baseball win

Three first-inning runs gave Bald Eagle Area the lead for good in a 4-1 victory over Hollidaysburg on Friday.

“We put the ball in play in crucial positions in order to get those early runs,” BEA coach Jim Gardner said.

Eagles pitcher Ryan Guenot struck out four in 4 2/3 innings. Brandon Barnyak was credited with the save.

BEA’s Trey Buttwerorth and Caleb Bell both finished 2 for 3 at the plate.

Bald Eagle Area (5-4) hosts West Branch on Monday.
