The State College Spikes announced their schedule for the franchise’s 10th season Friday.

The Spikes, the defending New York-Penn League champions, will open the 2015 season at home at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, June 19, against the Williamsport Crosscutters. It will be the first of 38 regular season games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The home slate includes 26 games against Pinckney Division teams, with five against a new franchise, the West Virginia Black Bears. West Virginia, which will play its home games in Morgantown, was formerly the Jamestown Jammers and is a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate. The Black Bears’ first series against the Spikes is set for July 1-3 at Medlar Field.

State College will take on the Tri-City ValleyCats in a rematch of the last two league championship series at Medlar Field from July 11-13. The Spikes won last season’s title, while Tri-City took the crown in 2013.

In addition to the ValleyCats, three other teams from outside the Pinckney Division will visit State College next summer, with the Connecticut Tigers, Lowell SPinners and Vermont Lake Monsters all set for series.

The promotional schedule for the season will be announced in the spring.

The Spikes’ home games will be at 7:05 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at 6:05 p.m. Sunday. State College will host one afternoon game, playing Tri-City at noon on Monday, July 13.
