Penn State parking deck closed after vehicle fire on second floor

The HUB parking deck is closed following a single vehicle fire Friday evening, according to Alpha Fire Company.

Alpha volunteers were dispatched to the second floor of the parking deck about 7:30 p.m. Friday, according to a Facebook post from the fire company. Crews arrived to find “a fully involved vehicle that ultimately involved the car’s fuel tank.”

Crews used the deck’s standpipe system and put a second line in place using a leader line and a ladder to the second floor, Alpha said.

The parking deck has been closed until Penn State’s engineering team can evaluate structural damage.
