The husband of a woman stabbed to death in College Township on Monday has been charged with murder.

Vladimir Podnebennyy, 63, was charged with first- and third-degree murder, felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime.

Police say a domestic dispute between Podnebennyy and his wife, Natalya Podnebennaya, led to the stabbing. Podnebennaya, 58, was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Podnebennyy was taken into custody for questioning and later arraigned in front of District Judge Leslie Dutchcot.

Bail was denied by President Judge Thomas King Kistler.
