Buffalo Wild Wings submits plans for Ferguson Township site
Buffalo Wild Wings, following years of interest in the State College area, submitted plans for a restaurant in Ferguson Township.
The plans, according to the Ferguson Township Planning Commission’s Jan. 11 agenda, were put in Dec. 22.
Plans for the new eatery place it at the intersection of North Atherton Street and Blue Course Drive. It would be a 5,440 square foot restaurant with 241 seats, 187 inside and 54 outside.
“Staff emailed the planning commission a copy of the first submission of the proposed commercial development at the corner of North Atherton and Blue Course Drive,” the agenda said. “The plan was sent out for review by the appointed township engineers, CRPA, traffic engineer, regional fire director, and county planning office. In-house reviews are also currently being conducted. The planning director, zoning officer, community planner and arborist are all reviewing the plan as well. Once all comments are submitted to the township, staff will then compile the comments and send them back to the engineer.”
Maria Tranguch, who was Ferguson Township’s director of planning and zoning, told the Centre Daily Times in April 2015 that the eatery was interested in the space.
“We haven’t received any formal submission from Buffalo Wild Wings yet,” she said in an email. “Although as I mentioned last time we spoke, they were interested in the parcel on North Atherton Street in front of the Giant.”
The plans show an access point for vehicles going southbound on North Atherton Street. People driving northbound would have to turn left on Blue Course Drive to access te eatery’s parking lot.
Buffalo Wild Wings spokeswoman Heather Leiferman could not be reached for comment.
